Samsung may launch the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 as early as July 2023
Samsung may be releasing the successor to its foldable smartphones a bit early this year as it is rumoured to be holding its Galaxy Unpacked in the final week of July. The South Korean tech giant is touted to launch the Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Tab S9 series and Watch 6 during the event.
According to SamMobile, Samsung is planning to hold its Unpacked event slightly earlier than the usual August timeframe each year. This may be due to the increasingly fierce competition in the foldable segment.
OPPO, Motorola and HUAWEI have had at least a couple of generations of foldable smartphones and now, Google is also expected to release the Pixel Fold later this year. Hence, it’s possible that Samsung wants to maintain its lead in the space by releasing the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 early.
Previously, Samsung Malaysia actually lowered the price of the Galaxy Z Flip4 to match the OPPO Find N2 Flip when the latter was released in our country. Well, more players in the segment would definitely benefit consumers, as can be seen by the price drop.
