Polaroid Joins In Pokemon 30th Anniversary Celebration With Three Cameras

Previously, Casio announced its contribution to the celebration of Pokemon’s 30th anniversary with a special edition watch. Now, it looks like Polaroid has joined the party, with its own range of limited edition items. This includes three instant cameras themed after not only the electric mouse mascot Pikachu, but also the latest of the Eeveelutions, Sylveon.

One of these instant cameras is the Polaroid Go Gen 3, which itself looks to be a fairly new product, as PetaPixel reports that this was launched back in June. For what it’s worth, it’s the world’s smallest instant analog camera, and the special edition swaps out the black and white colour scheme for Pikachu’s yellow. The shutter button has also gotten the Poke Ball look to it, and the wrist strap looks like the yellow mouse’s tail.

A second special edition of the Polaroid Go Gen 3 adopts the pink of the newest Eeveelution, Sylveon. The shutter button is once again a Poke Ball, but the rest of the camera has white, pink and blue, reflecting the Fairy-type’s colours. The strap doesn’t get a special shape, but it still has the three aforementioned colours all around. It’s an interesting choice to be sure, but it’s probably better colour-wise than its pre-evolved form, Eevee, which has turned into a second mascot of sorts since the Let’s Go games.

The last of the cameras is a Polaroid Now Generation 3, rather than a Go. This makes use of the standard Poke Ball colours of red and white, with black accents. This is an older model, launched back in March of 2025, and prints on I-Type and 600 film. The two mentioned above print on the smaller Go films. The Pokemon Collaboration continues with accessories like a camera case, photo album and camera strap, all of which are Poke Ball-themed. Then there are the limited edition film packs for the two sizes of film mentioned above.

Per the report, the Pikachu and Sylveon editions of the Polaroid Go Gen 3 are priced at US$99.99 (~RM406), while the Poke Ball edition of the Now Generation 3 is tagged with US$139.99 (~RM568). The special edition films of their respective sizes are US$24.99 (~RM101) and US$22.99 (~RM93) respectively, though it’s worth noting that the former comes in Double Packs.

For the remaining accessories, the Poke Ball-themed Polaroid Go Camera Case and Photo Album are both priced at US$24.99 (~RM101). Finally, the special edition camera strap costs US$14.99 (~RM61). Pre-orders for these start on 25 August, with on-shelf availability starting on 5 October instead. For now, it’s unclear whether these will be making their way to our shores.
