Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Delivers Messy PC Performance

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which is set five years after the events of the previous game. Our protagonist Cal Kestis is now a Jedi Knight forced to navigate the consequences of his past encounters with the Empire and the Sith Inquisitors. After the huge success of its predecessor, people are wondering if the sequel will deliver a satisfying performance.

Gaming content creator Skill Up said PC players should steer away from Star Wars: Jedi Survivor during its launch and early days. Despite being one of the most anticipated games of 2023, he claimed that the developers at Electronic Arts failed to adjust the in-game settings to improve the experience on PC.

The game is reportedly struggling to maintain the game’s framerate consistent, with higher-end GPUs like the 2080 Ti only achieving 40 frames per second instead of the standard 60 frames per second.

A review by PC Gamer shared that the performance issues definitely ruined the fun for the game, even with Nvidia’s latest driver installed. The framerate issues come at annoying moments like stepping through doors that “triggers double-digit framerate drops”. Sometimes, cutscenes also drop to 15 to 20 fps, which is unacceptable.

There are also complaints all over the internet about the game’s stutters and glitches on the console versions. However, EA has been notified of the issue and promises to deploy patches on its launch day to fix bugs and improve the game’s overall performance.

So if you’re a PC player eagerly waiting to play Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, you might need to wait for a few more days until the patch is released and the issue is resolved.
