Gigabyte Launches Aorus P1600W ATX 3.1 PSU

Gigabyte has officially launched its Aorus P1600W power supply after its initial unveiling during Computex 2026. As its name suggests, the PSU is a 1600W component, and is fitted with all modern fixtures and fittings.

The Aorus P1600W is an ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1-compliant PSU, while also maintaining a compact design at just 160mm in length. Needless to say, the power supply is also made using premium components, such as advanced Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology that Gigabyte says allows it to achieve greater power density and efficiency. That, and 100% Japanese capacitors for enhanced reliability.

To keep it cool, the Aorus P1600W has a 140mm double ball-bearing fan with zero RPM technology, allowing it to operate at low and medium loads, refraining from spinning until it begins running work intensive programs.

The Aorus P1600W also has an LCD Edge View display built into the side, providing real-time monitoring data that is customisable via the Gigabyte Control Centre. Adding to that, the PSU is also integrated with the brand’s AI TOP ecosystem that allows users to monitor power usage during AI workloads. We have our reservations about these features; when choosing a PSU, most system builders usually tuck the PSU in the back and away from prying eyes, so whoever is getting this component is clearly going to want to make sure that it is visible at all times.

At 1600W, gamers will have more than enough power to channel throughout their rig, and with plenty of ports to support it. This includes two native 16-pin-to-16-pin PCIe cables and two dual-8-pin-to-16-pin PCIe cables, providing extended connectivity for ultra-high-end multi-GPU configurations across current and upcoming platforms.
