Lenovo Quietly Launches ThinkStation P4 In Malaysia With AMD Ryzen PRO Processor

Lenovo is no stranger to quietly launching some products in the global market. The company has done this before with the “Think” family of computers, like its ThinkPad E14 Gen 8 and ThinkCentre Neo 50a Gen 6. Now, it seems another Think computer is following this trend with the debut of the ThinkStation P4.

While it may seem new, the computer giant actually revealed the 29.9-litre tower in May. According to the press release, its main selling point is that it is the “first workstation in the world” to feature “AMD Ryzen PRO 9000 Series processors” and up to “NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition GPUs”.

Specs-wise, the Malaysian website specifically says that the desktop comes with an AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 9655 up to an AMD Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D processor. Unfortunately, the computer doesn’t come with the previously promised RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell; instead, it is capped out at the NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 Blackwell 72GB GDDR7 with ECC.

Moving on, customers can customise the ThinkStation P4 with up to 256GB of RAM and 33TB of storage split across three M.2 drives and dual 3.5-inch HDDs. As for memory, buyers have the choice of giving the tower up to 64 GB DDR5-6400MT/s.

In terms of power, customers have the option of choosing between a 750W or 1,100W PSU. As for internet connectivity, customers have the choice of no wireless LAN support and settle for an Ethernet connection or a MediaTek Wi-Fi 7 MT7925 2×2 BE & Bluetooth® 5.4. It is also worth mentioning that users can opt for the standard air cooling or, what Lenovo says, an advanced liquid cooling system.

The ThinkStation P4 has a wide array of ports. At the front, the tower has four USB-A ports (two provide USB 10Gbps while the other two offer 5Gbps), a USB-C port, a headphone/microphone combo jack, and a standalone microphone input. Meanwhile, the rear has four USB-A (USB 5Gbps) ports, a DisplayPort 2.0 and 1.4, an HDMI 2.1, a line out, and an Ethernet. If those aren’t enough, Lenovo is offering additional ports when configuring their tower.

As mentioned earlier, the ThinkStation P4 is now available in Malaysia, and it comes with the starting price of RM7,443. Customers can also customise the computer to their liking with Lenovo’s configurator. For those curious, a fully configured unit, complete with all the maximum hardware and software add-ons, is priced at RM117,783.30.
